So half term is over (for those who had it) and it's June and summer and there's lots ahead to enjoy.
But, for whatever reason, you still could do with a night or two of unplugging from Life in order to be re-charged by God.
So - a little incentive to help you take time out from everyday life and enjoy the time and space to reconnect with the Lord.
£20 off each night booked! Book whichever room you like during June and July (subject to availability ) and you pay £20 a night less than the normal price. (minimum 2 night stay)
Nights available are:
June 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

What might your time away look like?
All guests have ensuite rooms, and use of the old chapel, pretty sitting room, gorgeous library, sunny morning room – and, depending on the weather, the gardens and walled orchard. Everybody’s retreat looks different - and one of the advantages of being smaller is that there is flexibility. There is a daily rhythm of prayer - which of course is entirely voluntary. In chapel, morning and evening, sometimes we use set/liturgical forms of prayers, sometimes free-form, or a meditation, or the Examen. But it’s always user-friendly, informal, and about 10 – 15 mins. And always voluntary!
Spiritual Direction sessions are available at a mutually convenient time. And there are suggestions as to what you might do during your time here, which are given to you when you first arrive.
SO a day might look like this:
8.30am breakfast in bed, followed by a time with the Lord, still in bed or in the comfy chair in your room - read, reflect, think, pray, doze, enjoy.
10.00 - 11.00 Spiritual Direction (normally with Penelope)
11.00 Personal reflection/prayer time, or Individual Thanksgiving and praise session - maybe in chapel , your room, the garden … (from the list of suggestions, which has in-depth ideas and topics etc) Painting, drawing, reading ....
2.30 A country walk - or a lovely massage at the local “The Beauty Corner” http://thebeautycorner.co.uk/index.html
4.00 afternoon tea - home baked goodies to enjoy!
4.30 follow up from the morning or painting or piano playing or … (there is a long list of suggestions!)
6.30 supper (2 course meal with wine)
9.00 early bed with an encouraging book to read
Some people like to maintain silence; others go out for coffee at the local coffee shop or visit the medieval Abbey in Malmesbury, or go into Bath …
A good question is: What do you need from the Lord and how can we help you to find that from Him? What would best help you to spend time deepening your relationship with Him?

The next stage of renovation is the Summer House Project. A beautiful wooden garden house will shortly be erected in the garden in order to provide a special place for prayers, reflection, writing and resting. A total of £5000 needs to be raised now to cover the costs of the cabin, its erection, electricity supply, and decorating and the furnishings.
To donate to the Project please click here. And designate your gift "summer house"
